History
My wine journey started at Oddbins in Chester in the late 90's, a great place to learn and try new things, then fine wine merchants La Reserve in London and managing the whisky and wine shop Milroys in Soho.
I started my first business in 2004 when Planet of the Grapes appeared on New Oxford Street (you'll never sell any decent wine with that name!) we went on to open a wine bar in Leadenhall Market and a bar/restaurant on Bow Lane. At the same time I also started a butchery business with MeatN16 appearing in Stoke Newington and featuring, unsurprisingly, a large range of meat friendly wines. We opened MeatNW5 a couple of years later before selling everything and escaping London.
9 Vines is a 'Greatest Hits' of the wines I've loved over the last 20 years, plus a continuation of the search for new and interesting things.
We stock over 750 wines, spirits, ciders and beers and are always looking to add more. From everyday gluggers, to fine wine and all points in between.
We are a wine bar with loads of wine by the glass and 2 beers on tap, as well as lots of snacks to choose from. Once a month we hold a wine tasting with a different theme so keep an eye out for those on our website or sign up to our mailing list. Come and say hello!
